The JUMP metamodel identifies equivalent metadata tags between different schemas. It does this by providing a higher-layer set of semantic objects. The end user maps thier low-level object syntax into an upper-level semantic object that means the same thing and is used in the same way.
This higher-layer of semantic objects is provided in a semantic dictionary. When two different users map thier low-level object syntax into the same higher-level set of semantic objects the two different schemas can be automatically aligned.
