The tags in the blue square identify the entity types, naming conventions used in the data table, and full description of the data meaning. It presents three different layers of metadata encapsulation to provide the flexibility needed to capture the different nomenclature applied to a data record.
The metadata syntax (such as a column name or XML schema) is typically disjointed and nonaligned between different systems. Every time you create a schema, whatever the notation, you are both naming the data and putting it into some sort of classification system. Every time you interchange metadata between data domains you need to address this metadata naming problem. The data in each domain may overlap in terms of its true meaning (the yellow and green boxes) but if the systems were developed independently, they almost certainly use a different syntax naming convention. Since different applications and organizations use different vocabulary to describe the data a JUMP model can provide the structure for expressing all the nomenclature in a related manner.
